Rare resources in Warframe: where to farm Orokin Cells, Argon and Neural Sensors
Common resources pile up on their own; rare ones run out exactly when a build is one short. This is where to farm each of them, and which are worth collecting in advance.
Which resources are needed most
There are only a few rare resources, but they are needed in very different amounts. The one most items need is Orokin Cell: 205 items require it. The rest follow, and the list shows which resource to collect first.

Where to farm each resource
These are the places players recommend most. A resource also drops in other missions on the same planets, but here there is more of it or the run is shorter.

- Argon Crystals decay. They disappear over time, so stockpiling them is pointless. Farm Argon when a specific build needs it.
- Oxium comes from drones. Oxium Ospreys carry it in Corpus missions. You have to find and destroy the drone; ordinary enemies do not drop it.
- Kuva is farmed in kuva missions and the Kuva Fortress. Most of it goes into rerolling riven mods.
- Forma arrives as a blueprint from relics, where it is a common bronze reward, and from Nightwave. You build it in the Foundry.
- Nitain comes almost entirely from the Nightwave store.
Don't confuse rare with valuable. Argon decays, while Orokin Cells are needed by hundreds of items, so stockpile the cells, not the Argon.
How to farm more efficiently
- Use a resource booster or a resource drop chance booster on long runs: the first doubles the amount, the second the drop chance.
- Bring a Warframe that increases enemy drops. Their abilities give another roll for resources on a kill.
- Farm a rare resource in a mission where something else you need drops too, relics for example.
- Before farming for hours, check the finished item's price. Buying the result is sometimes cheaper than collecting the materials.
